SHINER - Madlyn Hajek Cloutier, 84, of Shiner, Texas died February 3 at her residence in Shiner. Madlyn was born on July 15, 1928 in Shiner, Texas. She was the daughter of Ernest J. and Millie (Pustejovsky) Hajek. Madlyn graduated from Shiner High School, and later, received a degree in Home Economics from Texas State College for Women (now Texas Women's University) and worked for Foley's in Houston before marriage. On June 17, 1950 Madlyn was married to J. Jack Cloutier in Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church by Reverend John Wagner. They lived in Baton Rouge and Shreveport Louisiana where Jack was an architect. In July of 1960 they moved to Shiner. Madlyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a devout Catholic and was active in many local organizations. She served as a Girl Scout Leader and assisted with the Cub Scout Troop. Madlyn was a Life Member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member in Shiner Wolter's Library, Emeritus member of the Pilot Club of Shiner, a past member of the Shiner Hospital Auxiliary, Shiner Half Moon Walkers, and the Shiner Gaslight Theatre. Madlyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest J. (1964) and Millie (1994) Hajek, her husband, J. Jack Cloutier (2007). Interment will take place at the City of Shiner Cemetery in Shiner, Texas.
