The Roanoke Leader Roanoke, Alabama 23 Jan 1929, Wed • Page 1 DEATH OF MR J. J. ARNETT OCCURRED ON LAST FRIDAY Last Friday occurred the death of Mr. Joseph J. Arnett at his home a few miles east of Roanoke in his 65th year. He had been in declining health for many months. He was one of the best known and most substantial citizens in this part of the county. Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday afternoon by Rev. H. H. Ellis, and interment was at Bacon Level. He is survived by his wife and seven children: Miss Augusta Arnett and Mrs. J. H. Allen, Jr., of Roanoke; Joe and Jesse Arnett, who live near the old home; H. H. Arnett, of Standing Rock; Mrs. James Whitley, Glenn, Ga. ; Mrs. Lewis Halsey, Florida.
