J. Norris Hinds, 91, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Winters. He served in the Army Air Corps from Sept. 12, 1942, to Nov. 5, 1945. He was Finance Director for the City of Odessa. He married Eileen Carpenter in December 1999 in Odessa. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nugent and Bess Hinds; and his first wife, Doris Hinds, in 1996; also his sister, Margaret Henderson in 2002. He is survived by his wife Eileen Hinds of Odessa; daughter, Beth Hinds Birdsong of Seattle, Wash.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, James Earl Hinds of Belton; other family members, Billy Max Triplett of League City, Carol Logan of Austin, Betsy Triplett Hurt of Odessa, and Patti Hatcher of Pleasanton. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Heggemeier officiating. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
