Bio

Scott Curtis Dickey, 47, of Dripping Springs, Texas died suddenly on January 30, 2013 in Austin. Curtis was born in Dallas on May 8, 1965. He is survived by his mother Linda Dickey, brother Tom Dickey and sister-in-law Lori Dickey, nephew Trevor Dickey and niece Alexis Dickey all of Austin, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Curtis was preceded in death by his father Thomas A. Dickey and his nephew T.C. Dickey. Curtis moved to Dripping Springs, Texas in 2008 and was an active member of the Dripping Springs United Methodist Church. Curtis was a member of the North Hays County ESD#6 volunteer team and will be honored by his department at the memorial services. As a heart transplant recipient in December 2011, Curtis lived every day as gift and shared his blessings with all of his friends and family. Curtis had a passion for dogs and actively trained them, fostered them and never met a stray that he couldn't place in a good home. Curtis enjoyed being Uncle Curtis to his niece and nephew and rarely missed any of their school or sporting events. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., both at Dripping Springs United Methodist Church, 28900 Ranch Road 12, Dripping Springs, TX 78620. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the North Hays County ESD#6, The Burke Center, or the Seton Heart Hospital in Curtis' name.
