Jimmie Hale Funeral services for Willie Jim (Jimmie) Hale will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at West Sherman Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Wood will officiate with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Jason Mahon, Micah Stewart, Mark Stewart, Nathaniel Hale, Zachary Hale and Grant Gassiott serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Hale passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Texas Presbyterian WNJ Hospital at the age of 87. Jimmie was born on June 19, 1925 in Anna, Texas to the late Hosea and Grace Rutherford. She married her high school sweetheart, Clyde E. Hale, on December 4, 1944 while he was in Air Force training in Casper, Wyoming. They were married for 64 years before he preceded her in death in 2009. Mrs. Hale was employed at Texoma National Bank, now American Bank of Texas on Texoma Parkway from 1965 – 1976. In 1976, she joined the staff of Austin College in the Financial Aid office and retired from there in 2000. After retirement, she and Clyde joined the WNJ Auxiliary where she accumulated over 10,500 hours as a volunteer. She had served for the last several years as the Auxiliary treasurer and was still active at the time of her death. Mr. and Mrs. Hale were active members of North Park Baptist Church in the 1950's before Mr. Hale was transferred to Florida with Quaker Oats. While in Florida, they were charter members of the Mission Hills Baptist Church in Temple Terrace. After moving back to Texas in 1960, they were active in the First Baptist Church of Leonard, Texas. In 1963, they returned to Sherman and were charter members of Trinity Baptist Church where they served in various capacities for 44 years. Jimmie was currently an active member of West Sherman Baptist Church where she volunteered in the nursery. Mrs. Hale is survived by two daughters, Sandra Mahon and husband James of Sherman, Janis Clark and husband Lewis of Fayetteville, Ark. and one son, Timothy Hale and wife Melanie of Sherman; eight grandchildren, Angela (Mahon) Gassiott (Grant), Jason Mahon (Amber), Micah Stewart (Jenny), Mark Stewart (Kimberly), Mayci Stewart, Nathaniel Hale (Brooke), Candace Hale, Zachary Hale (Rachel) and eight great-grandchildren, Gracyn and Grady Gassiott, Tex, Judd and Liv Mahon, Abigail and Eli Stewart and Hudson Hale; three sisters, Madge Bond of Dallas, Texas, Bobbie White of Hooks, Texas and Jo Ellen Lee of San Antonio, Texas and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers: Glen and Guy Rutherford, two sisters: Olene Covington and Elizabeth Shelley, son-in-law, Randall Stewart and great-grandson, Gavin Gassiott.
