Bio
On the 16 May 1844 Joseph P. Stewart married, as his 2nd wife Lydia N. Wilson. Joseph had a daughter Melissa J. Stewart by his first wife(name unknown). Lydia and Joseph raised Melissa along with their own 5 daughters, They came to Collin County along with her Mother and brothers & sisters, and the Routh family (that is also in Collin County) from Platte County, Missouri between 1851 and 1854. In 1856 Joseph P. Stewart opened a mercantile-grocery store in downtown McKinney. Other children that have not been linked are: Nancy A. Stewart Douglas #8865739--Anna C. Stewart Miller--Eliza Luvena Stewart Grimes Davis, and (daughter by first marriage) Melissa J. Stewart Alexander.
