Tommy Burk Drain, 85, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, in Fort Worth Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Aurora Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Tommy was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Rhome. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army in 1946 and 1947 and was involved in the occupation of Japan. Tommy married his wife, Billie Jo Drain, in 1947. He worked for Armour in the Fort Worth Stockyards for more than 20 years and retired from Standard Parts and Equipment in 1993 after more than 20 years of employment. He was a devoted husband and father and served as a deacon at Azle Avenue Baptist Church. Tommy was preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Billie J. Drain; daughter, Brenda Drain; brothers, Bill Joe Drain and Ray "Pete" Paul Drain; sister, Dorothy Stegal; and son-in-law, Randy Kunze. Survivors: Daughters, Shirley Kunze, Sharon Colley and husband, James Rodney, Barbara Cooper and husband, Les; seven grandchildren and their spouses; five great-grandchildren; and many family and friends.
