Jeanne Ruth (Havranek) Sunday, eldest daughter of Ruth Ruby (Barden) and Lambert Ambrose Havranek, was born April 20, 1934, at Spencer, NE. Jeanne died Friday, January 25, 2013, at the Butte Health Care Center in Butte, NE. Jeanne attended rural country school and Spencer High School in Spencer, NE., where she participated in cheerleading, Girls State, and graduated in 1952. She worked for over 16 years at Colorado Kenworth GMC and was one of the original members of the Colorado Maintenance Council. Jeanne retired from Fort Logan (CO.) National Cemetery in 1996, having assisted many military veterans and their families. She was a devoted and loving mother to her adored only child, Gale (Lt Col [ret] Ron) Funk of Shreveport, Louisiana, and a wonderful, caring grandmother to her only grandson, Gerhardt Funk, attending Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana. Jeane was always proud of her grandson's work in mathematics and physics. In addition to Gale, Ron, and Gerhardt, left to cherish her memory are sisters, Karen (David) Harder, and Margaret (Jim) Saxon both of Ponca, Nebraska; and brother, Gary (Nancy) Havranek of Yutan, Nebraska; as well as nephews, Dennis (Amy) Havranek of Waco, Texas, Greg (Kelly) Harder of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Scott (Jann) Saxon of Dell Rapids, South Dakota; nieces, Lori (Norman) Grinvalds of Yutan, Nebraska, Lina (Brett) Bostwick of Lincoln, Nebraska, Robin (Scott) Ehredt of Urbandale, Iowa, and Marni (Steve) Brinkmann of Ponca, Nebraska, and their respective families. Jeanne was preceded in death by: parents; sister, Carol Havranek. Burial was in the Union Cemetery, Spencer, NE.
