Loretta Smesny, 70, of Houston, Texas passed away January 22, 2013 in Houston, Texas. She was born on October 27, 1942 in Sealy, Texas to Charles Smesny and Sidney (Marek) Smesny. A graduate of Sealy High School Class of 1960, she was employed as an Adminstrative Assistant for the Volunteer Department for Memorial Hermann Memmorial City, member of the KJZT, and a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. She is survived by her mother Sidney Smesny of Houston, Texas and a brother Melvin Smesny and his wife LaRue of Houston, Texas. Nieces Kimberly and Megan, great nephews Chase and Jacob, and great niece Emily. Loretta was preceded in death by her father Charles Smesny and her sister Charlene Buss. Visitation Thursday January 24, 2013, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at St. Catherine of Siena Vigil and Rosary Thursday January 24, 2013, 7:00 PM at St. Catherine of Siena Funeral Mass Friday January 25, 2013, 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Interment Friday January 25, 2013, 3:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Cemetery Pallbearers will be Bailey Curtis, Earl Pereira, Leo Marek, Daniel Marek, Franklin Marek, and Joseph Marek. Honorary pallbearers will be Chase and Jacob Smesny.
