Bio

Services for Wanda Lee Cheatham, 68, Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Grand Saline Methodist Church of Grand Saline with the Revs. Charlie Jordan and Randy Hageman officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery under direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline. Mrs. Cheatham died Jan. 24 in a Grand Saline hospital. She was born April 5, 1928, in Pruitt community to the late A.J. and Oda E. Fowler and was reared in Grand Saline. She lived most of her life in the southern and western states before returning to Grand Saline in 1989. She was a housewife and member of First United Methodist Church where she had served as worship chairman, in the choir, past chairman of Parsonage Committee, and member of Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. She was currently president of Friends of the Library, past president of Athena Club and a member of Grand Saline Historical Society. She was preceded in death by a brother, Foye S. Fowler. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Bruce N. Cheatham, Grand Saline; sons, Bruce N. Cheatham Garland, and Kirk F. Cheatham, Dallas; daughters, Carol Lee Manley, Arlington, and Elizabeth A. Riveire, Atlanta, four grandchildren; and one nephew. Pallbearers include Larry Albert C. Dunn.
