NEW CUMBERLAND, W.Va. Perry Mahaffey, 93, of Herron Rd., New Cumberland passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006, at Weirton Medical Center. He was born June 2, 1912, in Kinder, La., a son of the late Cornellius W. and Elizabeth (Brown) Mahaffey. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Perry is retired from Weirton Steel Corp. in the by-products Coke Plant. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of the Tomlinson Run Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Geneva Joy (Kirkpatrick) Mahaffey, at home; two daughters, Linda Lou Owings of Spotsylvania, Va. and Nancy Joy Lemons of Weirton, W.Va.; two sons, James Cornellius Mahaffey of New Manchester, W.Va. and Ronald Sherman Mahaffey of Fredericksburg, Va.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be today, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Turley Funeral Home, where services will be held on Wednesday, May 24, at 1 p.m. with Minister Paul Blake Jr. officiating.
