Bio
Ora Hatfield Bowen, 103, passed from this life on January 20, 2013, to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Ora was born June 1, 1909, in Plain, NM, to the home of the Rev. C.H. and Jeanette Hatfield. Ora's father was a circuit preacher for the Methodist Church and she traveled with him as a small child and accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She married Volney Bowen on September 3, 1926, in Carlsbad, NM. To this union three children were born. Ora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, having five generations who loved and cared for her. Ora was preceded in death by her husband, Volney of sixty six years along with her seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Eunice George, Clovis, NM, Charlene Franks, Fort Sumner, NM, and W.E. (Bill) Bowen, Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Belinda Furrow (Mike), Clovis, NM, Greg Gray (Camille), Grapevine, TX, Bruce Franks (Carol), Albuquerque, NM, Cynthia Hall, Plano, TX, and Pat Bowen (Amelia), Albuquerque, NM; great-grandchildren, Audra Meiwes (Donny), Michael Furrow Jr., Valerie Gray, Allison Franks, Jill Franks, Shannon Lee (Mike), and David Lewis; great-great-grandchildren, Dalton and Lakota Meiwes, Michael Furrow III, Kassidy, Sydney, and Aspyn Furrow, and Cameron and Kevin Lee. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Greg Gray, Bruce Franks, Pat Bowen, Michael Furrow, Jr., Dalton Meiwes, and Michael Furrow III.
