John Howard Robinette, 81, 712 Morrison Ave., died at 3:40 a.m. Monday [June 10, 1985] at his home after an extended illness. A native of Wise County, Va., he resided in Kingsport most of his life and was an employee of Tennessee Eastman Co. in the Tenite Division, retiring in 1969. Mr. Robinette was a member of Mafair United Methodist Church and a former member of the Modern Woodmen. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Audrene Lane Robinette, Kingsport; three grandchildren; and a brother, Dewey Robinette, Jonesborough. He was predeceased by a son Rodney Robinette in 1972. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home downtown chapel. Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with The Rev. Tony Gonzalez officiating. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
