Funeral services for Gwendolyn (Lena) McFarland, 73, of McKinney, who died Thursday at North Texas Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. McFarland was born March 1, 1915 in Collin County, the daughter of Z. Dillard and Ellen Samples Dillard, and married Hubert Earl McFarland in 1931 in McKinney. She was a textile worker and a member of the King Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Carlos (Helen) Self of McKinney; brother Wallace Dillard of McKinney, two sisters, Bertie Langley and Irma McGarrah, both of McKinney; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. McFarland was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert McFarland, and son Charles D. McFarland.
