The funeral service for Anna Helena Augusta Holweg, 94, of Marion, ND was held Thursday, September 4 at Marion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Tom Faaland and Norman Winkelman officiating. Burial is at Lakeview Cemetery, Marion, ND. She died Monday, September 1, 1997. Anna Helena Augusta Freehaug was born January 29, 1903, at Lobenstien, Germany, the daughter of Herman and Emilie (Korn) Freehaug. The family moved to the United States in April 1905, settling near Leeds, ND. In 1912 they moved to a farm south of Marion, in Grandview Township. She was educated in local country schools. She married Emil Holweg February 26, 1935. They farmed west of Marion. He died in 1959. In January 1996 she moved to LaMoure Healthcare Manor. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Marion Lutheran Church and Marion Lutheran WELCA. She is survived by a son, David (Sharon), Marion; two sisters, Rose Hardtke, LaMoure, and Clara (Victor) Buchta, Rugby, ND; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, Gloria; and three sisters. Published in the Litchville Bulletin, Litchville, North Dakota, September 10, 1997.
