Lydia (Kolinek) Tomlinson Nov 13, 1909 - May 6, 1993 Lydia K. Tomlinson, 83, of Corsicana, died May 6, 1993 in Corsicana. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Corley Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Conley will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. She was born Nov. 13, 1909 in Copeland, Texas. She was a graduate of Scott and White School of Nursing in Temple and Trinity University in San Antonio. She was a former school teacher and served in the Army Nurse Corp during World War II with the rank of First Lieutenant, Chief Nurse. She was a registered nurse at the Nix Hospital in San Antonio until 1960, when she and her late husband opened Gibson Discount Centers, first in Brownwood and then in Corsicana. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.B. Tomlinson in 1987. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Erwin of Corsicana; one son, Ronald Tomlinson of Corsicana; one brother, Clarence Kolinek of Kenedy, Texas; three sisters, Ida Tucker of San Antonio, Kathryn Weehrmann of San Antonio, Hildegarde O'Neal of Nacogdoches; one grandson, Mark Erwin of Princeton, N.J.; two granddaughters, Rachel Erwin of San Antonio, Rosamond Tomlinson of Corsicana; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Collier, Walter Erwin, Wilson Erwin, Ralston Gober, Frank Horton and Frank Murchison. Notes: The Corsicana Daily Sun - Friday, May 7, 1993 Submitted by Karen Rost
