Born in Bon Ami, LA on May 13, 1919 Departed on Sep. 22, 2012 and resided in Longview, TX. Graveside services for Jewell Bailey Watson of Longview, formerly of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Beauregard Memorial Cemetery in DeRidder, LA. She passed away Saturday morning at her home in Longview. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She was born May 13, 1919 in Bon Ami, LA to Calvin and Lydia Austin Bailey. She was a 1936 graduate of DeRidder High School, worked as a bookkeeper for West Brothers Stores for ten years, and retired as bookkeeper for the Beauregard Parish Police Jury. After retiring she served as a Pink Lady at Beauregard Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church in DeRidder where she served as a teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Sam, Jr.; her son, Sammy Ross Watson; a sister Lois Bailey Griffith of Jennings, LA; and her husband of 60 years, Sam "Crick" Watson. Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Judy Watson of Longview, TX; granddaughters, Allison Jennings and her husband Craig; Kelli Watson and Christin Watson of Longview, TX; and 1 niece and 4 nephews.
