Jones Funeral Slated Tuesday CHILDRESS, Tex. (Special) - Samuel Pierce Jones, 79, retired Northfield community farmer, died Sunday night in a Childress hospital after an illness of several weeks. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Northfield community building with the Rev. Charles E. Reynolds, pastor of the Weinert First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Northfield Cemetery with Newberry Funeral Home of Childress in charge. Jones was born Jan. 29, 1894, in McKinney and moved to Northfield in 1942 from Weslaco, Tex. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; six daughters, Mrs. Viola Featherstone and Mrs. Annie Lee Holiman, both of Hart, Tex., Mrs. Willie Rodriguez of Lubbock, Mrs. Wanda Travis of Childress and Mrs. Mary Hoover of Northfield; one stepson, Charlie Jones of Oil Center, N.M.; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Faye Reynolds and Mrs. Frances Boyle, both of Brownwood, Mrs. Earline Harris of Abilene, Mrs. Pauline Dyches of Canyon and Mrs. June Rutherford of Bangs, Tex; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Edwards of California, Mrs. Liza Athey of Princeton, Tex., and Mrs. Minnie Palmer of San Antonio; two brothers, Ed of Oildale, Calif., and Arthur of Fort Worth; 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
