Marion Chronicle-Tribune / Tuesday, June 22, 1999 - Pg.A9 Peru - Helen S. (Robinette) Coons, 72, Route 5, died Sunday evening in her home. Mrs. Coons was born in Norton, Va., to the late Daniel Robinette and Cora "Granny" Wampler Robinette. She was a longtime resident of the Pennville area. In 1943, she graduated from Benham High School, Benham, Ky. She married Robert A. Coons on June 19, 1971, in Greenup, Ky. He died March 19, 1992. Mrs. Coons retired in 1987 from C.T.S., Berne, after 22 years of employment. She attended Sugar Grove Church of the Nazarene. She lived in Peru the past three years after living east of Montpelier near the Jay-Blackford County line. Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Sue Miller, Peru, and Elizabeth Ann Smith, Ocala, Fla.; a son, Paul Wappes, Fort Wayne; a brother, William B. Robinette, Colorado; a sister, Nell Blankenship, Pennville; three granddaughters, Stephanie Kraemer, Laura Emerick, and Mandy St. Meyer; a grandson, Brian Smith; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Daniel S. Robinette, Kenneth P. Robinette, and Robert Robinette; and two sisters, Pauline Rains and Marie Wells. Services will be Wednesday morning in Glancy Funeral Home, Walker Chapel, Montpelier, with the Rev. Gary Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Pennville IOOF Cemetery.
