Bio

Lillian Frances Slovak, 92, passed away on September 28, 2011 at the Ennis Regional Medical Center. Lillian was born in Ennis, Texas to Josef J. and Marie (Sosolik) Vrana on October 21, 1918. She grew up in Ennis and attended the Creechville School. She married Louis Alois Slovak on January 3, 1944 and they made their home in Ennis. She worked for Donovan Galvani for more than twenty years as a seamstress. She was a member of the KJZT # 16 and the VFW ladies Auxiliary. She was an active member of St. John Catholic Church. She is survived by sons: Danny and his wife Evelyn Slovak, Ronnie and his wife, Susan Slovak, Michael and his wife, Laura Slovak and Timothy M. Slovak and friends Michele and Katie Jones; daughters: Dolores Sykora, the late Ernest Sykora and Judy Sawyer and her husband, Steve; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of more than sixty-five years, Louis Alois Slovak, two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church with Father John Dick serving as celebrant. Pallbearers will be grandsons Darren Slovak, Dale Sykora, Rodney Sykora, Brandon Slovak, Joshua Slovak and Justin Slovak. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to St. Joseph Cemetery. www.jekeevermortuary.com
