Bio

Obituary..... Mr. William McDaniel, an uncle of Messrs. Jas. E. and C. L. Scott, of this place, died in Cincinnati, O., on Friday, June 24th. 1898, of cancer of the throat. Although 80 years of age, he was up to his last sickness an active member of the police force of Cincinnati. He was a native of Anderson County. S.C..but had been in Cincinnati about twenty years. He was a man of excellent habits, was well-liked by all who knew him, and held the confidence and esteem of his superior officers. His body as brought to Hartwell on Monday in charge of Mr. Peter Rebold, his step son, and who is undertaker and proprietor of a large livery, boarding and feed stable. 1608 Queen City Avenue. The remains of Mr. McDaniel were interred in the Hartwell cemetery on Monday afternoon. (Published July 1, 1898 in The Hartwell Sun, Hartwell, Georgia)
