Gay Dies Tuesday, Rites Planned Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 pm at the Princeton Baptist Church for James Daniel Gay who passed away Tuesday, Sept 26, in the Stephen's Park Hospital in Dallas. Revs. Melton Greer and Leroy Martin will officiate, while Harris-Horn Funeral Home will be in charge of interment in the Princeton Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cecil Anderson, Ode Richardson, John Sturges, Hester Rutledge, Preston Tunnell, and Bob Sutherland. Mr Gay, 85, was born June 28, 1882. the son of John and Emily Russum Gay in Tennessee [ sic Mississippi ]. He lived in Dallas for a few years, but had been a resident of Princeton. He was a member of the Princeton Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. J. W. Tunnell of Dallas; seven sons — Johnny and Elmer Gay of Houston, J. C., A. W., and Raymond Gay of Dallas, Winston Gay of Euless, and Jesse Gay of Casper, Wyoming; one sister, Mrs. R. J. Poston of Pasadena, Texas; one brother, Boyd Gay of Sulphur, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His wife, Effie Sutherland Gay, preceded him in death.
