Texas Coaster, July 29, 1954: Funeral services for Mervin Richard Judy, 37, were held last Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Baptist church in Needville, with Rev. Edwin Kettler of Damon officiating. Mr. Judy died Wednesday of last week in the Dow Chemical Hospital at Freeport as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Mr. Judy was a boilermaker for the Dow Chemical Company. He was born March 6, 1917 in Oklahoma. He was married March 6, 1941 and moved to Needville where he lived for 12 years. He served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II. Mr. Judy is survived by his wife, Adeline Zwahr Judy; three children, Linda Joyce, age 7, Maxine, age 6, and William Wayne, age 4; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Babe R. Judy of Ranger, Texas; four brothers, Wayne of Houston, Jack of the U.S. Navy, Billy of the U.S. Army, and Noel of Ranger; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Getta of Ranger and Mrs. Wilma Langwell of Houston. Pallbearers were C.D. McCleary, J.W. Stone, J.F. Darline, W.R. Blackwell, Clarence Otto, and Edwin Miller. Garmany-Janca directed.
