Location has been determined as Huntington Cemetery portion per onsite location of marker taken by contributor Cheryl Cartwright. ******************** Memorial services for Sammy Lew Moody Ivy, 80, of Huntington, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be in the Oddfellow Cemetery in Huntington. Mrs. Ivy was born Nov. 24, 1932 in Huntington and died Dec. 24, 2012 in a Huntington nursing facility. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Gipson Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the Oddfellow Cemetery in Huntington. Mrs. Ivy was born on November 24, 1932 in Huntington, Texas, the daughter of the late Fannie Muriel (Sayers) and Jake 'Nippy' Miles Moody. She passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 in Huntington. Mrs. Ivy was born and raised in Huntington. She worked as an administrator for an apartment complex for Travis Taylor. She loved to cook and decorate cakes. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy Jane Nutt and Harry B. Reed; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Miles and Janice Nutt; daughter, Gina Lynn Nutt; son-in-law, Phillip Gene Martin, Sr.; grandchildren, Patrick Nutt, Ashley Simms, Brandon D. Johnson and Phillip Gene Martin, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Serina Nutt, Zoie Nutt, Cameron Simms, Ethan Simms and Brynlie Johnson; sister, Billie Lord; a number of nieces, nephews and friends, whom she loved as her own; and good friend, Brenda Malone and her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ivy was preceded in death by her husband, G. W. Ivy; and daughter, Janice Ann Martin.
