Elvin Henry Beierman, 82 of Albion died Wednesday evening, December 26, 2012 at his home south of Albion. Elvin son of Edward H. and Mary Preister Beierman was born January 26, 1930 on his folks Platte County farm near St. Bernard. He was baptized at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Elvin moved to Albion with his family when he was 4 years old and was later confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church. He attended school at Boone County District #7 north of Albion, and attended Albion High School for one year, later obtaining his G.E.D. On May 19, 1959 Elvin was united in marriage to Marilyn L. Scholl at St. John's Catholic Church in Petersburg, NE. They farmed south of Albion where they raised their five children, Keith, Tim, Mary, Larry and Kent. Marilyn passed away on March 5, 1986. On April 25, 1987, Elvin was united in marriage to Colette (Wegener) Weiand at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Albion. They continued to live on the farm south of Albion. It was there Elvin passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Albion and St. Edward Catholic Church of St. Edward, the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years, the Rae Valley Heritage Association and also donated over 80 pints of blood to the American Red Cross. Elvin enjoyed restoring antique tractors and won many 1st Place Trophies at the Boone County Fair Parade. He was also interested, along with his sons, in Stock Car Racing and was an avid worker with the KC Fund Raisers and KC Bingo. Along with farming, he ran Valley View Farm and Dairy for over 50 years. He was still very interested in farming and helped his sons when he could. Elvin is survived by his wife Colette of Albion; 5 children: Keith (Diane) Beierman and children: Josh, Kevin & Keri; Tim (Paula) Beierman and children: Ryan, Tyler & Ashtyn, all of Albion; Mary Beierman and fiancé Don Gittens of Omaha, NE; Larry (Kim) Beierman and children Shelby, Sheldon & Payton of Albion; Kent (Jane) Beierman and children Justin, Kaylie & Taylor of Cedar Rapids, NE; 2 brothers: Jerry (Pat) Beierman and George (Betty) Beierman all of Albion; 2 sisters: Marilyn (Jim) Eisenmenger of Humphrey, NE and Kathy (Dave) Anderson of Lincoln, NE; 2 brothers-in-law: Alvin (Alice) Hamling and Jack Leifeld of Albion. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Marilyn, a sister Jane Hamling; two sisters-in-law: Viola (Ted) Redler and Elaine Leifeld.
