Daughter of John W. Hawthorne and Minnie Mae Franklin Hawthorne. Her first marriage was to Lee Bolton, who preceded her in death in 1962. Her second marriage was to Jasper Smith, who preceded her in death in 1974. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Edith Hedgecock and Estene Prince.
