Kuchar, John John Kuchar Funeral Services Held Sept. 7 John Kuchar, 88, of Weimar died Sept. 5 at Parkview Manor in Weimar. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 7 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Father John C. Bily officiating. Mr. Kuchar's four nieces brought up the offertory gifts. Interment followed at St. Michael Cemetery. John was born May 14, 1918 in Weimar to Vincent and Anna (Bayer) Kuchar. He attended St. Michael Elementary School. Mr. Kuchar joined the U.S. Army on Nov. 14, 1941 and served with the 186th Infantry. His tour of duty took him to the South Pacific where he specialized as a machine gunner in the Philippines and New Guinea. John received his Honorable Discharge on Oct. 2, 1945. After his discharge from the Army he returned to his parent's farm. He lived with them until 1966 when he built his house here in town and has lived in Weimar his whole life. He took care of his parents until their deaths. He was employed by Billeck's Pressing Shop where he worked for several years, until it closed. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW and KJT. John was a devoted son, brother and uncle to his four nephews and four nieces. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his sister, Mildred Santoro and husband Mike of Weimar; and brother-in-law, Eddie Anders of Weimar. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Mary Sulak and Georgie Anders. Pallbearers were Michael Santoro, Garrett Anders, Leonard Anders, Allan Anders, Edward Michulka and Leon Staff.
