Bio

Professor L. Sherman Trusty was a barber, author, and educator, best known for writing influential textbooks that standardized barbering education throughout the mid-20th century. He was inducted into the Barber Hall of Fame in 1966. His most famous book, The Art and Science of Barbering , was first published in 1956 and was reprinted numerous times. Other works include Barber Science in a Nutshell (1948). These books provided a comprehensive, scientific, and technical approach to barbering, which became a foundational text for many barbers. Trusty's work is considered a classic in the field of barbering education. His books are still sought out by enthusiasts and professionals for their historical value and thorough explanations of the craft's fundamentals.
