Versie L. Burnes Odessa Funeral services for Mrs. Versie L. Burnes were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Bethel Assembly of God in Shreveport, La. with the Revs. Mike Whatley and Dewayne Stott officiating. Burial will be Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Burnes was born in Cravens, La. on Feb. 12, 1918, to the late Henderson and Nettie Isabelle James Calhoun. She passed from this life on Jan. 28, 2005, in Shreveport, La. Mrs. Burnes is survived by her brothers, James W. Calhoun of Shreveport, Jesse Calhoun of Ceres, Calif.; sisters, Patsy Ratcliff and Dorothy Bruce, both of Texarkana, Ark.; numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special niece Joyce McCoy.
