Bio
Leo Robert Giese, 83, of one Gap, died at 12:07 p.m. Monday, January 1, 2001 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem. Funeral services were at 10 a/m/ Thursday at the funeral home. Burial was in Methodist Cemetery in West Salem. Mr. Giese was born on April 17, 1917, in West Salem, the son of Otto and Della (Henry) Giese. He married Ruth Vttecht on January 28, 1942. She survives. He was a retired farmer and a member of West Salem American Legion. Mr. Giese is survived by his wife, Ruth Giese of Bone Gap; a son, Robert L. Giese and his wife, Valarie of Hunting Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Fran Bunting of Crossville; a brother, Kenny Giese and his wife, Lucille of West Salem; a sister, Helen McKinney and her husband, Ivan of Brookville, Ohio; grandchildren, Trina Tiddle and her husband, Tom, Dustin Bunting and his wife, Beth, Tyler Giese and Casey Giese; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church in West Salem. The Olney Daily Mail, January 2001
