Bio

Mass of Christian burial for Martha J. Fuksa, 93-year-old former Bison resident, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bison. Rev. Joseph Arledge will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Hennessey, under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Martha was born March 17, 1919, in Bee, Neb., to Michael and Marie (Stastny) Linhart and died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. On Oct. 1, 1940, she married Adolph W. Fuksa at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bison. Together, they farmed west of Bison. She worked at Marquis Studio before going to work for Hennessey Care Center in the laundry for 38 years before retiring in 2002 at the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her husband Adolph in 1967, four sisters, three brothers and one granddaughter.
