Frankfort, Kansas, Index Tuesday, February 10, 1920 E.R. Riley was born on June 1, 1877 in Carroll county, Ohio, and died February 5, 1920 at Lincoln, Nebraska. His early life was spent in Ohio where he was educated in the common schools and graduated from the Business College of Scio, Ohio. He was married to Jennie Oldfield on August 19, 1903 at Pittsburg Pennsylvania. He came to Frankfort, Kansas with his family in 1908, where he engaged in the grocery business, which he continued for nine years. Three years after disposing of his business he moved to Lincoln, Neb. where he entered the same line of business About a year later he was persuaded by the Stcay Mercantile Co. to assist in the management of their branch house at North Platte, Nebraska, where he continued until taken ill about September of 1919. since that time he had been in the Lincoln Sanitarium. He leaves to mourn his passing an aged mother in Eastern Ohio, a wife, two two daughters, one daughter preceded him in death, three brothers living in Ohio. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in North Platte, Nebraska. Mr. Riley’s remains were brought to Frankfort, Kansas for burial at Willow Hill Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas and graveside services with Reverend O.H. Kirby officiating.
