Koenig died Thursday evening at a local hospital. He had been seriously ill for several weeks. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Robert Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-7:30 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 in the funeral home. Mr. Studnicka was born Oct. 28, 1893, in Stanton County. He was the son of Joseph and Anna Kavan Studnicka. When he was a child the family moved to Farwell and settled on a farm near there. He grew up there and farmed for himself until World War I, when he served in the U.S. Army. After the war, he returned to Farwell to farm. On Oct. 12, 1920, he married Mary T. Blaha at Warsaw. They made their home near Farwell until 1945 when they moved to Grand Island. Mr. Studnicka went to work for the Webb Livestock Commission, which later became the Grand Island Livestock Commission Co. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral parish. Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph Augustine of Garden City, N.Y., Mrs. Edward Holechek of Omaha and Mrs. Carl Tuenge of North Platte; two brothers, Leo of Grand Island and Edward of Ericson; one sister, Mrs. Blanche Hurt of Farwell, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
