The Telephone Register, McMinnville, Oregon, Thursday, July 6, 1944 PIONEER RESIDENT BURIED THURSDAY Burial services were held for Peter Joseph Martz, 71 years old, from the Macy chapel Thursday afternoon, with Rev. Welmarter officiating. Born in Nebraska, Mr. Martz moved to Carlton in 1899, and was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth. The only survivors are a brother, Ed Mertz, of Nebraska, and his sister, Mrs. Augusta Wyman of Carlton. Mr. Mertz was a member of the Reformed church.
