Paul Edward Painter, 78, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Granbury. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Acton Baptist Church. Burial: Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home. Paul was born May 5, 1934, in Gilmer, to Thomas and Gyneth Case Painter. He married Roberta Faye Walden, May 25, 1957, in San Antonio. Paul served in the U.S. Army and later worked and retired from General Dynamics. He was the former chief of the Everman Fire Department and had also served as the mayor of Everman. He was the chief of the North Hood County VFD. Survivors: Daughters, Theresa Marie Painter McGinnis of Granbury, Chris Ann Stokes and husband, Billy, of Kopperl; son, Martin Edward Painter of Granbury; grandchildren, Michael, Taylor and wife, Amanda, Sarah, Mac, Casey; great-grandchildren, Kaya, Riley, Mac Jr.; brother, Marvin Painter and wife, Lucille, of Rowlett; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and additional family.
