Bio

HENRY I. FIELDS By Kay Taylor As a child I visited his sisters Hester and Gertie with my parents, and they were living in the old family home. The structure was two stories and had a kitchen attached with a porch in between. I was told that this was a fire protection to prevent the kitchen catching the remainder of the house on fire if a fire occurred in the kitchen. The house was near the Westminster Cemetery in which many Fields were buried. Henry married Lillie Williams on July 13, 1903, and they made their home in Gunter, Texas (Grayson Co.). It was in this small town that Henry ran a livery stable, and the birthplace of the first three children. In 1908 Henry and Lillie boarded the train for Hamlin, Texas.
