Grand Island (Nebraska) Herald; Friday 13 February 1942, page 8 Leonard K. Rickard, 71, a Grand Island resident for the past forty one years, passed away at the family home, 5... West Eighth St., Monday morning following a lingering illness. Funeral rites were held Wednesday afternoon at the Livingston Sondermann funeral home and burial was made in the Grand Island cemetery. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Jerry H. Grosvenor of Central City, three brothers and five sisters. Mr. Rickard operated the Hargis feed barn on West Third St. until 1920 when he entered the employ of the Grand Island school system as custodian of the Platte school serving in that capacity until his retirement in 1939.
