Joseph A Konwinski, age 73, of Silver Creek died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his home in Silver Creek. Joe was born February 26, 1939 in Silver Creek, Nebraska to Joseph Sr. and Florence (Kantor) Konwinski. He graduated from Silver Creek Schools in 1955. After school in the year 1956 he joined the Navy where he was a Boiler man 3rd class on the USS WREN, he was discharged from the Navy in 1958. Joe married Elaine (Bierman) Konwinski on July 2, 1960 in Columbus, Nebraska, where they lived for 6 years before moving to Silver Creek where they owned and operated Lil Joe's Bar for 8 years. Joe also worked at Becton Dickinson and Flexcon in Columbus. Joseph was a horse race owner of Smile Doc and a lifetime farmer. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Post #263. Joe loved spending time with his family and friends, he also enjoyed camping, listening to polkas, horse races, farming, playing cards, his classic cars, hunting, fishing, and watching Husker sports.
