Thanks to contributor #47466150 Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent October 1999 GREELEY, Colo. - Victoria "Vicki' Murcek, 89, of Greeley, Colo., formerly of Grand Islande, died Oct. 31, 1999, in the inpatient unit of Hospice at North Colorado Medical Center at Greeley. Services were at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Greeley on Nov. 12. Inurnment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic School, Campaign Office at Greeley. Mrs. Murcek was born Jan. 21, 1910, at Genoa in Nance County to John and Pauline (Kush) Morys. She attended Polk County schools. On Oct. 1, 1930, she married John C. Murcek at St. Andrew Church near Osceola. They lived at Columbus until 1942, when they moved to Grand Island. In 1955 they moved to Denver and in 1972 to Evans, Colo., where they lived until Mr. Murcek's death on Feb. 22, 1987. Mrs. Murcek had lived at Garden Square at Westlake in Greeley since June 1998. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Greeley. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts and plants. She like participating in Juanita Ball's harmonica band and exercise class before her health failed. Survivors include a son, Robert E. Murcek of Greeley, Colo.; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Ann Cram, two sisters and two brothers.
