Buena Weems Holmes Lubbock Avalanche-Journal Published: Sunday, January 30, 2005 Graveside services for Buena Weems Holmes, 92, of Richardson will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Floydada Cemetery in Floydada. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Lockney. Arrangements are under the direction of Ted Dickey Funeral Home of Plano. She died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, in Dallas. She was born May 31, 1912, in Winnsboro. She married Oliver Wendell Holmes on Dec. 24, 1932. They moved to the Irick community in Floyd County in 1933 and to Richardson in 1968. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979. Survivors include three sons, Jerry, Joe Mack and Rex; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
