Edit 12/25/2025: Obituary correction by fellow F.A.G. contributor Johnny T Johnson : "He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Socha Wendt, in 2010 and his daughter, Angela Lynn Smith, in 1993." Johnny also added death location and date of marriage to Jane. -------------------------------------------------------------- Dale Edward Wendt, 83, passed away December 1, 2012. He was born December 15, 1928 in Markham, TX to the late Edward Wendt & Lela McElroy Wendt. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and worked for many years at Marathon Oil Co. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Socha Wendt, in 2012 and his daughter, Angela Lynn Smith, in 1983. Survivors include cousins Dan & Jane Wendt of Bay City and Jack & Billie Wendt of Richmond and special friends Jimmy & Diane Rieger of Bay City. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Monday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church with Rev. Sam Starks and Rev. Kevin Blake officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Hudgins, Jerry Winkenwerder, Robert Foote, David Garcia, James Hoffmiester and Garland Hinman.
