Bio

Sophie Willmann Sandhoff, 97, of McGregor, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2016, at Cole Funeral Home, in McGregor. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor. Interment will follow in McGregor Cemetery. Sophie Minnie was born in McLennan County, Texas, to the late Fritz Willmann and Lena Lander Willmann, and was a life-long resident of McGregor. She married Lonnie Sandhoff on September 25, 1937, and they farmed the Coryell City and McGregor area for many years. Mrs. Sandhoff was a homemaker, who loved quilting, Skipbo, Dominoes, and serving at the McGregor Senior Citizen's Center. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for 70 years, where she enjoyed friendship and fellowship. Sophie was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Lonnie Sandhoff on March 11, 1981; sister, Minnie Pietzsch; brothers, Tilbert Willmann and Albert Willmann; and son-in-law; Raymond Wiethorn. Survivors include daughters, Carol Wiethorn, of McGregor, and Patsy Miller and husband, John, of Gatesville; son, Roger Sandhoff and wife, Kay, of Larkspur, Colorado; grandchildren: Sherri Orr, Susan Steinke, Wade Miller, Darren Wiethorn, Derek Sandhoff, Dena Parsons, and Mark Miller; 20 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
