John Raymond Sellers, 68, of Hattiesburg, died Nov. 19, 1990 at Forrest General Hospital. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Petal. Pallbearers will be Danny Hartfield, Tommy Hartfield, Jerry Hartfield, James Hartfield, James Sellers, George Sellers and Curtis Spiers, Jr. Mr. Sellers was a native of Covington County and had lived in Hattiesburg since 1929. He attended Hinds County Junior College, Craston Business College in Hattiesburg, and graduated from Delgado College in New Orleans. He was a retired accountant and was formerly employed with the New Orleans Tax Collector's office. During World War II, he served in the Pacific with the 4th Marine Division. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Quero Sellers, and three brothers, Daxter T. Sellers, Burton Sellers and Travis Sellers. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Betty Jean Dunn of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Lorene Hegwood of Zachary, La., Christine Hartfield of Hattiesburg, and Nonnie Spiers of Biloxi; four brothers, Roland Sellers, George Sellers and Billy Sellers, all of Hattiesburg, and Jack Sellers of Scooba; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. -Hattiesburg American, Tues, Nov 20, 1990, pg7
