Services for Juanita "Autry" Polk, 78, of Slaton will be at 2 p.m. today in Englunds Chapel with Elizabeth Abraham officiating. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton. She died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002. She was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Dallas and moved to the Slaton area in 1926. She attended Cooper schools and graduated from Cooper High School in 1942. She married Wayne E. Polk on May 6, 1946, in Slaton. He died April 29, 2002. She had worked at Slaton Rexall Drug and Lasater Hoffman Hardware and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Slaton Ladies Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 6721 and Ladies Auxiliary of Slaton American Legion 438. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Monte Polk on Oct. 22, 1971, and Mike Giannobule on Feb. 7, 1977.
