Graveside services for Loree Wynell Polk, 83, of Wills Point, formerly of Slaton, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Englewood Cemetery with the Rev. Cleve Kerby officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton. She died Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002. She was born April 6, 1919, in Erath County and moved to the McClung and Wilson areas in 1925. She attended school in McClung and Wilson. She married Bert Polk on Nov. 20, 1935, in Slaton. He died April 3, 1997. She moved to Wills Point in September 2000. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member and past president of the Slaton Veterans of Foreign Wars Lady Auxiliary Post 6721 and Luther Powers American Legion Lady Auxiliary Post 438. Survivors include a son, Don Foster of Hereford; two daughters, Mary Alice Weaver of Pasadena and La Quetta Hayes of Quilan; a sister, Luna Huddleston of Wills Point; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
