Jacob Kriz, Sr., a well respected citizen of Bruno, died at his home last Sunday, May 24, 1914 about 11:30, at the age of 78 years. Mr. Kriz was one of the pioneer settlers of Platte township where he located more than forty years ago and where he continuously resided on the old homestead with his family until about 8 or 10 years ago when he moved to Bruno. Funeral services were held in the Catholic church in Bruno, Tuesday morning, May 26, at 9 o'clock, services being conducted by Rev. Father Zalud. Remains were taken to Linwood for interment in the Linwood cemetery, where a couple of his children were buried. Deceased leaves to mourn his death a wife and nine children, eight sons and one daughter, as follows: John, Jacob Jr., Charles, Joseph and Louis of Oak Creek township, Anton of Platte who resides on the old homestead, and Frank, Paul and Mrs. James Blatny of Bruno. The children were all present at the funeral, the sons acting as pall bearers. The Banner joins the many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
