The Columbus Telegram (Columbus, Nebraska)14 Mar 1973, WedPage 29 Kavan-Fuenral rites are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Svoboda Funeral Homem, Schuyler, for James J. Kavan 87, a former Schuyler resident, who died in a Fresno, Calif., nursing home. The Rev. Willis Taplin will officiate, with the burial in the Linwood Hill Cemetery. The body lies in state at the funeral home. Mr. Kavan was born May 7, 1885 near Linwood and married Anna Faytinger Nov. 19, 1907. She died Nov. 13, 1964. Surviving are one son, Elmer of Fresno; one daughter, Mildred Svatora of Fremont; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Find A Grave contributor Tuck
