Bio
Born in house #60, village of Budisovice, town of Dacice, county of Jihlava, Bohemia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic), the son of Frantisek Karpisek and his wife Marianna. The passenger list for SS Ohio , which arrived in Baltimore, Maryland from Bremen, Germany on November 7, 1874 includes: Franziska Kominek (age 27), Franz Karpicheck (41), Antonia (32), Johanna (7), Josef (5), and Anton (11 months), all from Moravia, destination Nebraska. Frank Karpisek Sr. was born January 28, 1833 and died Monday, May 18, 1908 at his old home where he resided for 33 years. Funeral will be held Thursday at his late home after which the remains will be laid to rest in the Linwood Hill cemetery. He leaves three sons and four daughters, all in good circumstances. He was a good man and neighbor.
