Matilda M. (Peters) Curtis, 86, of Buzzards Bay, died Nov. 2, 2012 in the Royal Cape Cod Nursing and Rehab Center. She was the widow of the late Thermon L. Curtis and the daughter of the late Joseph T. and Edna (Patrick) Peters. She was born in Provincetown [Barnstable County, Mass.] and lived in Brockton before moving to Buzzards Bay. Mrs. Curtis was a member of Temple Baptist Church in West Bridgewater. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Carol M. Dodenhoff of Rindge, NH, Beverly A. Curtis of Orleans, Aaron L. Curtis of Brewster, Daniel L. Curtis of Lakeville, Timothy L. Curtis of Lakeville, Deborah J. Smith of Raynham and Jennifer A. Coleman of Mayfield, PA; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Shirley A. Johnson and Jeffrey J. Curtis. Her funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to Temple Bapsist Church, 540 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
