The Verdigre Eagle 2 May 1974 Lulu Sessions Rites Held Funeral services for Lulu Sessions, 82, were held Thursday morning. April 18, 1974, at the United Methodist Church. The Rev. Beye officiated. Mrs. Dale Morrill, Mrs. Eugene Beye and Mrs. Dwight McGill of Center sang "Good Night and Good Morning" and "Beyond the Sunset": Duane Christiansen sang "How Great Thou Art". Mrs. Russell Sorensen was organist. Interment was in the Brunswick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Russell Sorensen, Francis Nelson, Dwight Morrison, Arnold Schmidt, Clarence Thomsen and Myrl Tilhins. Mrs. Sessions passed away on April 15 at the Creighton Care Centre after being in poor health for some time. Lulu Belle Butterfield was born on April 16, 1892, to Fred and Belle Butterfield of Creighton. She attended rural school at Grimton. She lived at Walnut and Royal and most of her life was spent on farms. She was baptized a member of the Methodist Church at Walnut in 1927. On October 11, 1910, she was united in marriage to Ray Eyers at Neligh. To this union, three sons were born. In 1936, they moved to Santa Monica, California where her husband passed away on July 15, 1948. In 1954 she married Harry Sessions. who passed away on June 12, 1960. Mrs. Sessions continued to live in California until 1970 when she returned to Creighton and entered the Care Centre. Survivors include her three sons Kenneth Eyer of Creighton, Ross and Ivan Eyer of Los Angeles, California ; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and eight sisters Edna Boelter, Creighton, Orra Sievesind, Madison, June Eyers and Beulah Krimble of Portland, Oregon, Adabelle Rice, Fairbury, Evedell Everett and Helen Baemde of Los Angeles, California and Maxines Simmons of Phoenix, Arizona. One brother and three sisters preceeded her in death.
